You are considered an International applicant if you are neither a citizen nor resident alien of the U.S.
International students are required to obtain a score of 525 (195 Computer Based) or above is required on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and at minimum score of 5.5 on the IELTS. A Certificate of Compliance with Immunization Requirements for College Admission and an affidavit of financial aid are required. Equivalent College Preparatory Curriculum (CPC) is also required. Transfer International students must meet the MVSU transfer admission requirements.
First year undergraduate applicants must have received a high school diploma with a B average or above, in laboratory science, social studies, and mathematics. A World Education Services (or other reputable service) course-by-course, evaluated transcript must be submitted for all first year and transfer, international students. You will find all the information you need at www.wes.org. Be sure to read and follow the “Required Documents” information specific to your country of study to ensure that your evaluation is completed as quickly as possible. Please ensure the Mississippi Valley State University is listed as the recipients of the WES evaluation. In addition, freshman applicants are required to submit either the American College Test (ACT) score of 21 or above or the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) 1060-1090. Transfer applicants who have completed 12 or more hours of university-level academic courses with a B average will not be required to take the ACT or SAT and may be awarded transfer credit. The official I-20 document is issued after the student is fully accepted.
Certificate of Immunization, transcripts, diplomas, and certificates of all previous academic work must be certified and translated into English. The official I-20 document is issued after the student is fully accepted.
International applicants are students who are admitted, but are not United States citizens. An international student applying for admission to Mississippi Valley State University must have completed secondary school with above average grades. The applicant must have a high degree of competence in the English language.
In order to be fully admitted as an international applicant, the following requirements must be met:
- Application for admission (completed and signed)
- Affidavit of Sponsorship ( current bank statement of sponsor must accompany the affidavit)
- 525 TOEFL score (195 computer based) or a score of 5.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
- Evaluated High School transcript certifying completion of secondary school
- Evaluated transcript& Secondary Certificate of Leaving
- ACT/SAT Scores
- Immunization Records showing MMR and MMR2
- Copy of Passport
